Life bingo with your crew
How TaskPot works
You fill a card with things you want to do this season. Your friends drop a few squares of their own, and some of them promise you something if you finish a line. On reveal day, it all comes out.
Fill a card
Things you want to do this season, big or small: a chore, a side quest, a habit. Each one is a square.
Bring your crew
Friends pick a square they're rooting for, drop one of their own on it, and put a reward on a line: a favor they'll do if you hit it.
Reveal day
The season ends. Every reward comes out, and you see which lines you hit.

Every part starts with the short version.

Daub squares, hit bingos
In shortDaub means done. A bingo is a line with every square daubed (a row, a column or a diagonal) or a full group. Both count the same.
Tap a square to daub it
Try to finish a row, a column or a diagonal. The middle is the free space, and it's already daubed.
- Just for fun
- Self-care
- Money
- Relationships
- Life stuff
- A friend's square
- Daubed
- A 3×3 has 8 lines: three rows, three columns, two diagonals. A 5×5 has 12.
- A full group is a group at its maximum (3 squares on a 3×3, 5 on a 5×5) with every one daubed, wherever they sit.
- A stacked square counts toward a line when either of its squares is daubed. A square you decline doesn't count.
- The card cheers each bingo the moment you hit it, and reveal day counts them all.
- Want a square all to yourself? Protect it from its dialog and nobody can stack on it. Up to 3 on a 3×3, 5 on a 5×5.
Everyone plays the same seasons
In shortSeasons start on an equinox or a solstice and run to the next one. Each one ends on reveal day, then there's a week of sharing before the next one starts.
Fall 2026, for a card started today (Oct 16).

- A card reveals at midnight in its owner's time zone, taken from their browser.
- A Season Play Card reveals on the season's reveal day. A side card reveals on its own end date.
- You can start a card at any point in a season. Its Drafts Era is the 21 days from when you make it, or from the season's start if that's later.
- Lock early and the Drafts Era ends early: Locked in and Daubing Season start the moment you lock.
Four stages, then reveal day
In shortYou fill the card in the lobby, then Lock it in. After that your squares stay put and you just daub. Tap a stage to see what you and your crew can do in it.
In the lobby
From the moment you start the card until it locks: when you press Lock it in, or at the end of its Drafts Era.
You can
- Drop, edit, move and remove your squares.
- Spin for ideas when you're stuck.
- Set a square's type and group.
- Stack your own square on a friend's.
- Grow the card to 5×5, once.
- Invite friends.
- Lock it in once every spot has a square.
Your crew can
- Join.
- Pick a square, drop one of their own on it, and put something on the line.
- Edit or move their square, until you daub it.
- Put a reward on a line from the start.
Locking is optional
Lock it in shows up once every spot has a square. It asks you to confirm, because it can't be undone. If you never lock, the card locks itself at the end of its Drafts Era, full or not.
Locking emails any friend on the card who hasn't put something on the line yet.
What goes on a card
In shortYou pick the spot for every square you drop. Only you daub your card, including the squares your friends dropped.
Dropping a square
Tap an empty spot, answer “What's the square?” and press Drop it.
- Pick a type and, if you like, a group.
- You can pick one from your backlog instead of typing.
Two types
Yes / no is done in one daub. Count is done after a set number of daubs, and the square fills up as you go.
- Each daub on a count square counts one, and the last one completes it.
- To start a count again, open the square and reset it.
Daubing
Only the card's owner daubs, and that includes the squares friends dropped.
- On a computer, tap a square to daub it and tap again to undaub.
- On a phone, tap a square to open its controls, then tap the check.
- Swipe through, on a phone, shows one square per screen with the daub key beside it.
- On a computer, your pointer turns into a dauber over a square you can daub. Pick another one, or your usual pointer, under Make it yours.
The free space
The centre spot. It's always daubed and counts toward every line through it.
- You can rename it, clear its words or add a photo behind it.
- You can't daub, undaub, drop on or stack on it.
Spin
A new card starts empty. Stuck for a square? Spin for one idea, or spin the whole card.
- When you drop a square, Spin one fills the box with an idea. Tap Spin again for another.
- Spin the card spins a few ideas into empty spots. Drop the ones you like, spin the rest, then Save. Once more than half the card is filled, the rest is yours.
- While your card has an empty spot, the free space is the Spin button, unless you've renamed it or given it a photo. Then Spin is under the Groups tab beside the card.
- Only the words are random. Nothing is placed at random.
- A square dropped just as it was spun has a dashed outline until you make it yours: edit its words, or open it and press Keep it as is.
- Until then, Spin again inside the square swaps in a new idea, as long as you haven't daubed it and nobody has stacked on it.
Growing
Every card starts 3×3. You can grow it to 5×5 once, before you lock it.
- Every square moves one spot in and keeps its neighbours, and 16 empty spots appear around the edge.
- Lines get five long.
- A card never shrinks.
Groups
An optional label on one of your squares. There are five.
- Just for fun
- Self-care
- Money
- Relationships
- Life stuff
- A group holds up to 3 squares on a 3×3 and 5 on a 5×5.
- You can filter the card to one group.
- Your square stacked on a friend's can have a group too. A friend's square never does.
Receipts
A photo or a link that shows a square happened.
- Adding a photo daubs the square.
- You can swap or remove a receipt. A square with a receipt is undaubed from inside the square.
- A photo on the free space is decoration and proves nothing.
Stacking
A spot can hold two squares. It counts when either one is daubed.
- Daubing both adds a glow, not extra points.
- Your crew can stack on any square with room, yours or another friend's.
- You can stack your own square on a friend's while you're in the lobby, never on your own.
- Flip a stacked square to see each side. Your card opens on your side of a square you stacked.
- A friend's square you can still stack on shows a +. If your card is full but some spots hold only a friend's square, the lock notice says so, and Show me where points them out.
Editing, moving, removing
Edit your own words until reveal day. Move squares only while you're in the lobby.
- A friend's words stay theirs.
- You can remove your own squares until the card is locked. Removing takes the square's photo with it.
- A square a friend has stacked on can be edited but not removed.
- On a phone, press and hold a square to move it.
Haiku
Every square has a haiku that you and your crew write together, one verse at a time: 5 syllables, then 7, then 5, and on it goes.
- Open a square and its verses are along the bottom. Friends tap the square on your card to open them. Finished haiku, and ones waiting on a verse you can drop, also flow into the river beside your card.
- A meter says whether your verse fits as you type. The app does the counting, and a verse that doesn't fit says why.
- Every third verse finishes a haiku, and it gets a seal.
- Drop the last verse and your crew gets ten minutes before you can drop the next one.
- Remove your own verse, and on your card remove any verse or clear a square's verses. A removed verse that isn't the newest leaves its place open for anyone to fill.
- A square's verses close after reveal day and stay as the season's journal. The free space has verses too, and they never close.
- Only you and your crew can read them, even once the card is public. The one way out is your share video.
The backlog
Jot squares down whenever they come to you, and drop them later.
- It's one backlog, open from any card. A new idea is tagged to the card you're on, or to all your cards if you pick that. Any idea can still go on any card.
- A square leaves the backlog when you drop it.
- Nobody else ever sees your backlog.
Friends on your card
In shortFriends join from your invite link and drop one square each. They never install anything. Playing solo is a complete game too.
A friend's visit, step by step
Open the invite link
They see whose card it is, the season, the card so far and what they're being asked to do. Looking needs no account. If they're signed in, it waits for them under Your turn until they join.
Inviting
Every card has one invite link, one tap away on every card screen.
- It's on the Invite key at the top, the crew tab on the card, the crew page and setup.
- Copy it or share it. Invites stay open until reveal day unless you close them early.
Who sees your card
You and the friends who took your invite link.
- Anyone holding the link can look before joining. Nobody can find your card without it.
- Once a card reveals, it becomes public.
Friends' squares
Each friend drops one square per card, stacked on the square they picked.
- In the lobby, they can edit its words or move it, until you daub it.
- After the lock, they can ask you once to edit it, or to move it if it's stacked, until you daub it. You say yes in one tap, or keep it with a reason. They hear back either way.
- The pencil on a friend's square is where you manage it: decline it, ask them to take another look, rename them, or open their spot on your crew page.
Crew's full
Up to 14 friends on a 3×3, and 24 on a 5×5.
- Once no square has room for another, a friend can still join and put something on the line.
Declining
You can decline a friend's square. They are never told.
- It comes off your card and stops counting, but keeps showing for them as if nothing happened.
- If another square was stacked on it, that one takes over the spot.
- A friend's square alone in its spot can't be declined after the lock, because friends may have put rewards on lines through it. Removing the friend is different: their square goes, and if that empties a spot on a locked card, your card opens again so you can fill it.
Renaming
You can change the name a friend goes by on your card, any time.
- Do it from the pencil on their square, or their spot on your crew page.
- Everyone on the card sees the new name, them included. Nobody is told you changed it.
Negotiating
Instead of declining, ask a friend to take another look at one thing. Once per friend per card.
- You pick a reason from a list. Nobody types a message.
- You can ask about their square's words any time before you daub it, its spot while you're in the lobby, and the line their reward is on after the lock. Never the reward.
- They change it, or keep it and pick a reason. Nothing waits on the answer.
Closing invites
Once the card is locked, you can close invites early. They can't be reopened.
- After that nobody can join, drop a square, or put on or change a reward.
- Every reward already offered stands.
Leaving and removing
A friend can leave your card, and you can remove one, at any point. Nobody is told either way.
- Their square and reward come off the card, and their verses' words go, leaving each place open. If a square was stacked on theirs, it takes the spot.
- If that empties a spot after the lock, your card opens again so you can fill that spot. A revealed card never opens again.
- Before reveal day, another friend's reward on a line through a spot that emptied is handed back, so they can put a reward on a line again.
- Your invite link won't add a friend you removed. Let them back in, on your crew page, undoes that. A friend who left can join again from your link.
Something on the line
In shortA reward is what a friend promises to do if you hit the line it's on. Something they'd actually do: dinner, a hike, a playlist. No money.
The good ones tend to need you both there.
- Rewards go on from the start, before the lock and after it.
- Each friend puts a reward on one line per card: any row, column or diagonal.
- A reward stays sealed until reveal day, from you too. On reveal day you see the ones you hit. The rest stay sealed unless the friend who offered one chooses to show it.
- A reward can go on any line, empty spots and all. They fill in as the card does.
- Putting a reward on a line is part of dropping in. A friend can change their reward or their line until invites close.
- That a friend put a reward on a line isn't a secret. It shows on the crew page and in updates.
- A reward is only ever a gift, so nobody loses anything when a line is missed.
Incoming
You hit the line they put a reward on. Time for them to deliver on it.
Absolved
You didn't. There's nothing to deliver on, and putting a reward on it still counted for something.
It never nags
In shortThe app tells you when a person does something that involves you. No streaks, no points, no “you haven't opened this in a while.” The card keeps running while you're off doing the things on it.
Boops
Your heads-ups. Almost every one is about a person: a friend joined, dropped a square or a verse, put a reward on a line or cheered you. The crew key shows how many are unread.
Two boops no person causes, and only while a card is in the lobby: three days before its Drafts Era ends, and when it locks itself. Asking a friend to take another look boops them, and their answer boops you. A friend's change request boops you too, and your answer boops them.
Your turn
On a friend's card? The top of your crew page lists what it's waiting on from you: joining, dropping a square, putting a reward on a line, or taking another look when they ask.
Open a friend's invite link while signed in and it stays there until you join, so you never have to dig it out of a text. Hide a step you've decided against. No count, no badge, no email. With no card of your own, it's at the top of your boops.
Cheer
The one reaction, for your friends' updates and their haiku. There are no comments. Press it again to take it back.
The river
Beside your card, or along the bottom on a phone: updates from that card and every card you're on, and your crew's haiku, newest first. Squares dropped and daubed, receipts added, friends joined, a reward put on a line, a card locked or revealed. It never shows what a reward is. Whatever needs you on the card, like Lock it in, sits on top, and Show older loads what came before.
Point at an update about your card and its squares are ringed on the card. An update about a friend's card shows that card small; tap it to open the card with the square ringed. This card shows only yours, with the notes you were shown about it. A dot on the river's tab means Lock it in or growing the card is waiting on you. It's never a count.
On your home screen
Add TaskPot to your phone's home screen and it opens straight to your card, full screen. On an iPhone, tap your browser's Share button, scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. Or choose Get the app from your account menu for steps that fit your browser.
While you play in your phone's browser, TaskPot suggests it at most three times, each right after you daub, and never again once you say no or install it.
Emails
- “You're in”
- A friend
- When they join a card. Always sent, because it carries their link.
- Card locked
- Every friend who joined before the lock
- When the card first locks, by you or by itself. It asks a friend with no line yet to put something on the line.
- Last call
- You
- Three days before your Drafts Era ends, if the card is still in the lobby.
- Reveal day
- You and every friend
- On reveal day. A friend whose reward is Incoming gets “Time to deliver on it” instead.
- A new verse
- You, and anyone who dropped a verse on that square
- When someone else drops a new verse on that square, with how many syllables the next one takes. At most one every ten minutes for each square.
Every email except “You're in” can be switched off in email settings.
Run a few at once
In shortEach card is its own game, with its own squares, crew, invite link and reveal day.
Fall '26
Season Play Card
Your first card of each season. It runs on the season's shared dates, the same as everyone else's.
Your own dates
side card
Any other card. You pick its start and end dates; left blank, it starts today and ends on the season's reveal day. It reveals on its end date.
- Make this my Season Play Card, in a side card's setup, moves the season's dates onto that card, and the old Season Play Card becomes a side card. Nothing is retyped and nobody loses their link.
- It works while both cards are in the same season and the side card is still in the lobby. If nobody's on the old Season Play Card, its Drafts Era starts over from today, and with none of your squares on it, it's deleted.
- Naming is optional. A Season Play Card with no name uses its season's name. A side card is called Side card until you name it, because it runs on dates of its own. You can rename a card any time.
- Switch between cards from the card's name at the top. You stay on the page you're on, now for the card you picked. Your cards shows every card you own, newest season first.
- You can delete a card from its setup, or from its ... on Your cards, at any point, after a confirmation. It takes everything with it, friends' squares and rewards included. They aren't told, and it can't be undone.
- Anyone opening the home page without an account gets a card to play with, saved in their browser. Making an account keeps it.
